Momma's Resting Place

Special Words By Family & Friends

This Poem is dedicated to my loving Grandmother Mrs. Betty Ann Belk
February 3, 1918 - December 1, 1999
For when she passed away the world lost a very miraculous person.
I pray that she May Rest In Peace

By Joel Michael Belk

GRANDMA
A Grandma is a person much wiser and older than you
Someone who loves you and loves talking to you.
When you would call you would make her day.
What does Grandma mean?
Grand means that they are very special and a one of a kind;
there are no two Grandmas alike.
Ma stands for mother someone who knows what's best
for her children and Grandchildren.
A Grandmother is a person who is forgiving when you do something wrong.
Grandma always stood with her head up high even when she wanted to cry.
Every time that I saw Grandma she would give me a hug,
but it was much more than a hug
it was a bond between a Grandmother and her Grandson.

Momma's Imprint!
by Akiva G. Belk

In a world filled with struggles two of the greatest are one's children and one's spouse. Joel so appropriately stated how Momma faced both challenges. She faced them with forgiveness and she faced them with dignity.

Momma's love was so strong that a grudge could never take root. It was easer for her to forgive than to be burdened with the weight of a grudge.

Momma could not lie. A lie was a grievous sin to her. She was impeccably honest and truthful!

In the final years of momma's life she face more controversy, embracement, pain and suffering than any will ever know. It was especially difficult for a woman of her age to go through what she did. Her pack was much to heavy yet Momma pressed on with her head held high.

Eventually Momma's sons, Gary Lee and Donald Wayne, other relatives and friends began to beckon Momma from Gan Eden's portals. Momma's grip loosened on this world and one evening she just let go knowing for sometime she could not change the way things were.

All that Momma could do in her parting moments, there in her room, was to whisper, "I love you. I love you each and everyone" ...and she meant it!

Momma we will never forget the beautiful imprint of your love, your kindness, your caring, your forgiving, your honesty, your truthfulness and yes, your gentle hugs. May you rest in peace! You have touched our lives in ways that words will never express.

Momma we love you... We always will!! We miss you... We think of you daily!!

Love,

Akiva & Nancy
